Why is that not what Jesus meant? For starters speaking in tongues wasn’t something Jesus talked about at all – as far as I know the first recorded mention of speaking in tongues is in Acts.

But more to the point, is that really the best introduction you could be giving as what you think Jesus is about? This woman was about to get off the train – she had less than a minute to talk with me, so you’d think that she would share something really central to what she believes. And I find it really strange that the most important thing you could share about what Jesus means to you could be about speaking in tongues. Not because I’m against speaking in tongues (I’ve been known to do it before), but it’s certainly not central to what I believe about Jesus.

I am actually a little confused.. why is that not what Jesus meant?? Speaking in tongues is said to be speaking the language of angels, sent as a message from God…

An interestin story all the same. Is the book good? Lena
