Got back from spending the weekend at Soul Survivor Melbourne which was another really great time for me personally as well as for our youth kiddies. It’s been pretty special seeing God really start to work through the lives of kids who you’ve thought at times haven’t got any reaction to this God stuff whatsoever. Had one of my boys get up and share what God had been doing over the week and I was in tears (which admittedly isn’t that hard – it’s pretty common).
And personally, had a great time in a mentoring workshop with Kim Hammond (Forge Vic head, generally all round good guy) and got some very practical thoughts from it. The other biggish thing was starting to feel like youth isn’t something I’m in out of obligation any more, and instead that I just really like ministering to these guys and think that it’s where God’s got marked out for me at the moment: which in some ways has got me back cogitating over church-planty type stuff.
So having got through Soul Survivor I’ve now got a full-on week with Tabor intensive week, so that’ll wear me out even more. But it’ll be good to get some meat on the stuff we’ve been reading for the past 12 weeks, and to get some more things together and running in terms of assingments for that. There you are – a more personal Re(y)port for today.
