Lent-ing. A hand?

I’ve decided that given that in about 21 minutes, the period of Lent begins (at least it does here in Australia) I’m going to give up eating between meals. My previously acceptable girth has ballooned out due to overly exuberant festivities in the festive season, resulting in the need for some urgent action. So there’ll be no food between meals for young Geoff. I’m writing this partly because I need to keep posting up here to keep writing stuff on this blog, and partly because I want those of you who know me and share geographical proximity with me to assist in keeping me accountable. And I’m also writing this to use lots of big words to make me feel smart.

Just to clarify – so I don’t get any food-nazi’s hounding me unneccessarily

  • Still OK:  The occassional strawberry/raspberry/anyberry/random fruit, any kind of smoothee or milkshake that comes out of my blender (it’d be ungrateful not to use it), and any hot drink. (I’m certainly not giving up coffee)
  • Not OK: Biscuits, lollies, picking at food generally, nuts, chocolate, etc. Anything that is edible, is not part of a meal, and is not excluded above.

Hope everyone has a good, disciplined lent :P
