A Whole New Look

Just because I was sick of seeing the same layout every day, and mostly because I came across this brilliant new Wordpress template (see the link in the footer for the creator), I thought I’d have a bit of a try out of something completely different. No guarantees that it’ll stay – although my feeling is that we’ll go with it for a while. And have a bit of patience if things shift around a bit – still sorting out the little fiddly details. So leave your nasty, “I’m never coming back here again while you keep this design” comments after the tone.

Beep.

    Hi Geoff,
Like the new look. My only comment is that it is hard to read some of the bits in the black sidebar on the right-specifically This is by… and Today’s Poll-the grey writing doesn’t show up clearly-the bits with blue writing are fine.
Or perhaps I just need new glasses or a better computer screen!

I like the new layout, esp since its much cleaner, but everything is now bunched up on the right, and on a large resolution, with small posts like this one there is a large amount of bare white space

oh wow. that tripped me out.

only complaint (so far) is that your archive/home/about links and such are not aligned to one side – alternatively I could just say they are centred, I am not so much a fan of that. They could also be a bit smaller.

Well, I’m having a go at solving everyone’s problems, think we’ve just about got the writing on the black sidebar looking readable (even for the more elderly members of the readership :P ) and I’ve had a go at combatting the excessive amount of whitespace left on Tony (Cozmos)’s monitor. So next step is to make those links smaller and less centred. No problem. :)

I liked your old layout also but mostly I’m jealous of your blog overall and your knowledge of how to manage this stuff.

I’m using blogger and I sure wish I knew how to get over to something better. I use Ecto on my Mac for posting and found out I could be making better use of some of the cool features if I wasn’t on blogger.

Layout good. Colours? uh, no yellow and black… Have you jumped on the dockers bandwagon then? You know what happens to those who leave the fold.. ;-)

Keep up the good work sir.

Matt, there’s a season for everything – specifically football season. By the time the boys in yeller and black are back on the field, we’ll make sure that we’ve got some supportive hues ;)

sorry geoff. but i dont really like this layout.

for an aesthetically minded one, there is something really amiss, and im not sure exactly what it is.

much too right centric i think…

Well I decided not to take style advice from someone who can’t spell “and”.

I might have a look at seeing what it looks like with the first bar on the left hand side. You’ll just have to wait and see (might not be easy)

Want to pick on my spelling Geoff, don’t do it in a public space, thank you very much.
